ABC Memo Details Clinton Rape Charges

Special to Insider Cover/ Christopher Ruddy

A civil war is brewing in the news room of ABC's World News Tonight over
allegations that in 1979 Bill Clinton may have raped Juanita Broaddrick, an
Arkansas woman, when he served as the state's Attorney General.

NewsMax.com has obtained an internal ABC News memo that was emailed to the top
news producers earlier today about the controversy.

Chris Isham, a top ABC News producer, distributed the memo which lays out out the
scintillating facts surrounding the alleged incident, and the interest sparked in
the subject by Republican Congressmen who last week were permitted to review the
  Starr documentation of the case.

Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr had turned over additional documents and FBI
statements with new details about the President's sexual activities. The ABC memo
reports that about two dozen Republicans reviewed the new material the Thursday
and Friday before the historic impeachment vote. Some may have been swayed to have
voted for impeachment based on the material.

The memo states that Arizona Republican Congressman J.D. Hayworth told ABC News --
off-the-record -- that the material makes Clinton out to be "a sexual predator."

The Broaddrick incident may be cited in a Senate trial of the President, Isham
  suggests.

NewsMax.com has learned that Isham's memo comes as a result of a feud between
World News Tonight Executive Producer Paul Freidman and network anchor Peter
Jennings. Jennings -- reputed to have a eye for the ladies much like the
President's -- has vehemently objected to ABC news reporting on the subject.

The memo, in an apparent shot at Jennings, states, "...the potential that a rape
charge could be leveled at the President makes the story one that can't be totally
  ignored."

  Verbatim ABC News memo follows:

From: Isham, Chris Sent: Tuesday, December 22, 1998 12:45 PM

To: Friedman, Paul E.; Dunlavey, Dennis; Murphy, Bob

  Subject: Broaddrick

Forwarding a memo by Josh Fine which is a good summary of the Juanita Broddrick
(Jane Doe #5.) Her case MAY have tipped some moderate Republicans to vote yes on
impeachment and MAY be introduced in the Senate proceedings.

Juanita Broaddrick was subpoenaed in the Paula Jones case. She filed an affidavit
that said "These allegations (that Clinton had made unwelcome advances towards
her) are untrue." The allegations are that she met Clinton in 1979 when he was
attorney general and that he raped or assaulted her. She owned nursing homes in
Northwest Arkansas and was in Little Rock for a convention. Clinton met her in the
afternoon and they made plans to meet later that night. He said the best place to
meet was in her room (at the Camelot Hotel) since that way no one would see them
  (he was, after all, married).

They then went up to her hotel room in Little Rock and evidently had sex. It is
unclear if he raped or assaulted her but that is the allegation made by Phillip
Yoakum. Yoakum is a Fayetteville man who says Broaddrick told him in 1992 that she
was raped by Clinton in the late 70's. I interviewed Yoakum in March and found him
entirely uncredible. He had facts wrong, was a total Clinton-hater, and his claims
to being friends with Broaddrick are untrue. The other person who supposedly knows
about what took place is Norma Rogers-Kelsay, a friend of Broaddrick's who went to
the convention with her in Little Rock and drove back with her to Van Buren where
they live). Tamara Lipper spoke with Rogers on the phone in March. Rogers said
that Yoakum was telling the truth. She was with Broaddrick before and after the
incident and said that she was in "quite bad shape after."

In 1991 Broaddrick was at a nursing home convention in Little Rock and a man
pulled her out of a meeting (this is all according to Rogers-Kelsay). The man took
her to Bill Clinton and he apologized for hurting her and asked if there was
anything he could do. She didn't understand at the time why he had taken that step
but soon realized the real reason after he announced his candidacy for President a
few months later. In the 1992 campaign these rumors began to circulate and
Sheffield Nelson, a longtime Arkansas Clinton-hater, tried to get her to come
forward. She did not. Yoakum evidently was at a meeting with Rogers and Broaddrick
where they discussed the incident and whether or not Broaddrick should talk
publicly about it. Evidently Broaddrick was worried no one would believe her
(similar to what happened with Gennifer Flowers).

That was the last anyone heard of her until she was subpoenaed in the Jones case.
Apparently Lisa Myers went to Van Buren and spoke with Broaddrick about her giving
an interview. I also spoke with Broaddrick. She made it abundantly clear that she
had no interest in her name getting out and didn't want to talk about it. She also
made it clear that she was not denying that something had happened.

Last month the Schippers group sent two investigators to talk to her. One of them
was Diana Woznicki, a Chicago police sergeant who is on loan to the investigation.
We're not sure who the second person was. The conversation took place at the
office of Broaddrick's attorney, Bill Walters, in Greenwood, AR. Walters says that
the ground rules for the interview was that there would be no discussion of the
underlying incident. The only topic that could be discussed was the possibility of
obstruction. According to Walters, there is no obstruction despite the claims in
the Yoakum letter. The Yoakum letter claims that Broaddrick's husband Dave said he
was going to get a few favors from Clinton for keeping his wife silent.

Late last week Republicans began to stream over to the Ford building to look at
the materials. According to a source of mine there were about two dozen members
who went to look at the material on Thursday and Friday. Many Republicans were
talking up the new material as evidence that could come up at trial because it
would show a pattern and practice of behavior (paying off or influencing women to
keep quiet). According to Rep. Inglis under federal rule of evidence 441(B)
something showing a pattern or practice can be admissible in a trial. But it is
unclear if Rehnquist would rule this admissible since it isn't a typical trial.

There is some question whether there is actually new evidence from the Woznicki
interview or members are just seeing the Yoakum/Rogers evidence for the first time
and consider it new. The big question is what does Broaddrick say. If she won't
talk about the incident then there is only Yoakum and Rogers to show that she was
raped/assaulted. If she won't say she was obstructed it would be hard to prove
that. Still, the potential that a rape charge could be leveled at the President
makes the story one that can't be totally ignored.

I'm told by two senior Republican members of Congress that Stephen Buyer (IN), Jim
Ramstad (MN), and Steve Chabot (OH) were encouraging their colleagues to look at
the materials. I'm also told George Radanovich (CA) took a special interest in the
Broaddrick interview. Rep. Hayworth told me on background that the materials make
Clinton out to be a "sexual predator."

There were rumblings from some Democrats (none of whom have seen the materials)
that there was pressure put on undecided Republicans to vote for an article of
impeachment based on the new materials. But two of the members rumored to be
swayed, John Porter of Illinois and Jay Dickey of Arkansas told Ariane and I that
they never went to view the materials.

Call me if any of this isn't clear. I've put down some links to a couple helpful
  documents: Broaddrick's affidavit

  Yoakum's Letter

  End of Isham Memo

Jake "The Snake" Plummer rewarded today with NEW contract!!!

Plummer signs 4-year, $29.7
                million deal

$15 million signing bonus a team record

                By Lee
                Shappell
                The Arizona
                Republic
                Dec. 21, 1998

                The Cardinals
                on Monday
                tore up the final
                year of
                quarterback
                Jake Plummer's
                contract and
                re-signed him
                to a four-year
                package worth
                $29.7 million.

The new contract includes a team-record $15 million
signing bonus, $4 million more than the club-record
bonus given first-round draft pick Andre Wadsworth in
                September.

Plummer, who turned 24 on Saturday, vaults to the
upper echelon of quarterbacks in the NFL.

He has guided the Cardinals to eight fourth-quarter
comebacks during his season and a half as a starter,
including Sunday's 19-17 win over New Orleans that
positions the Cardinals (8-7) to gain their first playoff
berth since moving to Arizona if they defeat the San
Diego Chargers (5-10) at home Sunday in the season
                finale.

"What a weekend," Plummer said. "This is a monumental
time in my life. It is definitely a dream come true for me.
I love the game. I'll do whatever it takes to get a winner
                in this town."

Plummer's agent, Leigh Steinberg, said he has negotiated
with the Bidwill family that owns the Cardinals for 20
years, "and I've never seen them more committed to
bringing a winner to the Valley."

"I want to thank the Bidwills for making this contract
                possible," Steinberg said.

Bill Bidwill called Plummer's extension "the 1998
Cardinals Christmas present to our fans, especially the
51,000-plus who were (at Sun Devil Stadium)
                yesterday."

                                         "Jake has eight
                                         fourth-quarter
                                         comebacks in 25
                                         games as a starter, at
                                         age 24 he's been voted
                                         an offensive captain by
                                         his teammates, and he
                                         is a Pro Bowl alternate
                                         in his second season,"
                                         Bidwill said. "We think
                                         that is very important."

                                         Details of the
                                         agreement were agreed
                                         to in principle on
                                         Friday, with Bill Bidwill
                                         Jr. serving as chief
                                         negotiator for the team.

                                         Coach Vince Tobin
                                         said that he hopes "at
                                         some point in time we
                                         get to where we don't
need comebacks, but the mark of a franchise
quarterback - what you evaluate a quarterback on - is
that when a game is seemingly lost he has the ability to
                bring you back and win."

"I'm ecstatic that we've got Jake signed for an extended
period of time," Tobin said. "He has exceeded all
expectations in his first year and a half."

Plummer, who received a $700,000 signing bonus with
his initial three-year contract after being drafted in the
second round out of Arizona State in 1997, made just
over $301,000 in base salary this season and was
scheduled to make just over $365,000 next season.

He will now spend more than that in charitable
                endeavors, according to Steinberg.

"This contract has some record-breaking aspects to it,"
Steinberg said. "Jake feels that he is in partnership with
the Bidwill family. He will contribute $250,000 to Mr.
                Bidwill's favorite charity."

Plummer also plans to set up a scholarship at his old high
school - Capital High in Boise, Idaho - and begin a
rebuilding of the athletic facilities there. He will create an
endowment at ASU that will support a student each
                year.

And Steinberg announced the formation of the Plummer
Foundation that will deal with ill and abused children and
assist in funding for research into Alzheimer's Disease.

A great Day for AZ Cardinals' Fans. WE HAVE A MAGICAL QUARTERBACK, For Years to come!!! This Quarterback will BLOW away the # of comeback victories by ELWAY, MONTANA, YOUNG, and MARINO!!! Jake Plummer is to the NFL what Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley was to the NBA. A Savior has been brought to the AZ Cardinals, and he came from the same home field that ASU and the Cardinals play on. Jake Plummer a Hero for the ASU College Football Fans, and now the HEART and SOUL of the AZ CARDINALS!!!

The Cardinals will play every week until they lose, it is the end of DECEMBER!!! HELL HAS FROZEN OVER IN PHOENIX!!! Blowing Away the Global Warming Predictions. GO CARDINALS!!!

12/20/98 Part 2

CARDS WIN!!!

Even though the NY Giants won today, and the playoff spot is not locked up, I am a very happy Cardinal fan. For the "Umpteenth" time Jake "The Snake" Plummer has pulled out another come from behind Victory. I am so Happy right now. I feel Vindicated on the IMPEACHMENT OF CLINTON, and my years of suffering as a Cardinal Fan in AZ.

As for the Cardinals, every game is a PLAYOFF GAME, basically we keep playing until we lose. Not often that a stadium of 52,000 leaves a game so joyfull that all have a tear of joy ready to fall. People handing out BEERS and Sodas in the parking lots to other fans in celebration. Even though I work Christmas Eve night and most of Christmas Day. This is the best Christmas since I moved here to AZ 14 yrs ago. I can't wait until next Sun 12/27 when the Cards play the Chargers here, and I get to party again with the other long suffering Cardinal fans in our moment of vindication!!! The taste of victory is never sweeter than to the one who has been for so long the victim.

As Tiny Tim said, "Merry Christmas!!! Merry Christmas EVERY one!!!"

12/20/98

IMPEACHED!!!

Well at least my minimum standard has been reached. Anything extra from the Senate will be icing on the cake. At least history will always list Clinton as 1 of 2 Presidents ever to be Impeached. Contrast with his vow of having the Most Ethical Administration in this Country's history. The video Clip from last January of Clinton: "I did NOT have sexual relations with That woman....", will always exist and be rank(ed) with Nixon's "I am not a Crook", and the videotape of him leaving the White House in a helicopter after his resignation.

And with Livingston's surprise announcement of not accepting the position of Speaker, caliing for Clinton's Resignation. Which in the background you could hear Rep Maxine Waters' whinny voice saying, "You Resign!!!". Livingston announced his departure from the House w/in 6 months. And he did this because of "affairs" in the past. But there are major differences, he did not have "affairs" with Interns or subordinates, he did not lie about it under oath.

And if I never hear Rep John Conyer's voice again, it will be too soon.

Now for what the local TV did here, interviews with "the common man on the street". Some think that Bob Dole the loser of the '96 election is now President. Some think Al Gore is now President. Some didn't even know Clinton had been Impeached. Talk about ingnorant and uninformed people. Overall only 1 in 5 actually knew what happened and what comes next.

Today, late December, and my AZ Cardinals playing for a playoff spot!!! A win over New Orleans Saints, and the NY Giants lose or tie Kansas City, and the Cardinals clinch a wildcard birth. 1st post season appearence since 1975 and the 1st time since moving to AZ. If the Cards win and the Giants lose, this will be my most satisfying weekends of the year. All I want for Christmas is a Playoff spot!!!

Time for me to go to the GAME!!! GO CARDINALS!!!

12/18/98

A surrealistic Day don't you think? A "war", and Impeachment Debate at the same time. While I am still following the Debate, it seems to me that as an anology it is like this.

The Constitution is the PGA Rules in GOLF Tournaments. In Professional Golf Tournaments the RULES are Strictly ENFORCED. A simple ommission can disqualify you from the Tournament. Clinton is a Professional Politician, and a LAWYER. He's cheating and HAS cheated the RULES (of LAW). As a Professional in this arena, there are NO Mulligans!!!

But Clinton wants the NEW Rules Go hole to hole in a Golf Cart, which is against the PGA Rules, but the Liberal Courts have ruled is Discriminatory to those that are handicapped. Clinton is handicapped by an inability to tell the truth UNDER OATH, inability to go on TV and tell the AMERICAN PEOPLE the TRUTH, Inability to tell his own FAMILY, Advisors the TRUTH, Etc.

Even when admitting the TRUTH surprises NO ONE!!! Including his own wife and Family. The Question IS: What Else would He LIE ABOUT??? That is less visible than SEX!!!??? Clinton was REELECTED with the voters knowing he was a "SKIRT CHASER". He chose to LIE about this when everyone knows he DID IT!!!. He could have come on TV last JAN and Said, "Yep, Did an Intern". That would have been the end of this, he could have still lied about dropping his drawers in front of Paula Jones and gotten away with it, with this admission. But HE decided to try to deny EVERYTHING that could paint him in a disrespectfull corner, and then used every possible delaying tactic and invented a few more. The Screams of the 4 yr $40 Million Investigation by the Liberals pales in Comparrison to the over 500 Cruise Missles sent on Iraq at a price of $1.2 Million + per Missile, by the end of today we will have shot nearly $1 BILLION in Cruise Missiles at IRAQ. So far I hear no complaints from the LIBERALS on this COST even though many people are thinking the "Wag The Dog" option by Clinton.

$40 MILLION in 4 yrs VS $1 BILLION in 2 days. Who should be Questioning this??? ME!!!

12/17/98

Who am I talking about?

He has decieved, misled, obstructed, was not "helpful", in a legal sense. GOD is on his side also! But this does not rise to the level of Impeachment,(BOMBING), as the Liberals like to say.

Clinton? Nope, Saddam H. of Iraq. Maybe instead of bombing Saddam at the rate of $1.2 Million Plus per Cruise Missle, we should have the Congress Censure him. Punishment enough, the Iraqi people's WILL of supporting Saddam is being violated by the US's intentions of punishing him and wishing for his removal from power. The defenders of Saddam: It was ONLY a Small country we invaded, that was once in the past part of Iraq. Thus a PRIVATE MATTER. The USA (Ken Starr) and the Republicans (England), are not following the will of the PEOPLE!!! (World Opinion).

Just a tid bit to make you think.....

12/16/98

I get up for work last night and hear that the UN Inspectors are without announcement leaving Iraq. This is immediately following Richard Butler's briefing to the UN Security Council. Now CNN is providing LIVE coverage from Baghdad in anticipation of a US/UK attack. To me this timing is highly suspect, or at least VERY Fortuitous for Slick Willy, especially with the announcement that "if bombs are falling the Impeachment Debate and Vote will be postponed". This when Slick Willy just gets back from the Middle East. Is Billy Boy leaping for JOY in the Oval (Oral) Office (Oriface)? Who can say? Did Bill call on Saddam to throw a wrench in the inspections so he (Clinton) has a reason to launch an attack on Iraq, while promising a glancing blow to Iraq as opposed to what Iraq would get outside this time frame?

Do you see why now that Clinton has to go!!!??? Just the fact these ideas can be given ANY Legitamacy is reason enough to remove him from office.

OR, are you sick and tired of the "going Against the WILL of the American People" rhetoric? If our representatives followed the "polls" the Will of the People, The Civil War never would have occured, The Emancipation of the Blacks by President Lincoln would Not have occured, The Segregation of the races would still be intact. Blacks would still sit in the back of the bus, the NFL, MLB, NBA, Politics would all still be White Man Only. AND I GUARENTEE that the EXPLOSION of Taxes taken from us would never have passed if it were up to "The Will Of The American People!!!".

THINK ABOUT IT !!!!

12/15/98

Damn!!! So easy to get behind this time of year. I was attempting to post 4 NEW PHOTO's in the PHOTO GALLERY, 2 are there, the other 2 only partially, I think I need a new directory for the photo's, might have filled this one up, I will work on getting the other 2 viewable this week.

Now for what I wanted to mention yesterday. A NEW SPIN on ATTACKS on Gun owners/Hunters. A SERIOUS HEALTH RISK. Here is the STORY.

*** Hunting can be hard on hunter

WASHINGTON (AP) - Pulling the trigger is the easy part. Now comes
having to drag the deer out of the woods. And this, say doctors, is
the part that many hunters are unprepared for. The risks in hunting
go well beyond gun safety. Hunters simply may not be up to the
physical demands and may suffer consequences from muscle strains to
spinal injury - and, in some cases, death. "They drag out a deer and
die of a heart attack," said Dr. Allen Davies, director of cardiology
at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich., "It's extreme
exertion, especially if they are sedentary." Three or four Michigan
hunters a year die of heart attacks, he said.

2nd ITEM I wanted to bring up yesterday. I put in a couple of hrs at work in the Secret Lab Sun before the AZ Cardinals vs PHIL Eagles game. As I was on my way to the Sports Bar, I became the the main eyewitness for a fatal car accident that happened in front of me. I stopped, directed traffic until the PD and Fire Dpt arrived. I filled out a witness report, with all the info and my contact #'s etc. I thought I would be able to leave at that point. But NO!!! Now a crime scene, and I was detained from leaving. The excuse being, the investigators would want to ask me more questions. After MORE than an hour after I filled out my Witness Report and was ready to go, was I finally let go.... NO EXTRA QUESTIONS!!!! A complete WASTE OF TIME. And I missed the ENTIRE 1st 1/2 of the CARDINALS GAME, which for a change was an
