I'm back! After being Victorious in getting my new Digital Camera to talk to the PC. What a bitch this was!!!! I spent HOURS on SUNDAY and Monday trying to get these 2 to talk to each other. Didn't work. I get home from work today, CURSED at the Camera and PC.... And gave it one last try. I didn't change a DAMN THING, didn't "Reboot", "ReStart", or anything. Now it works like a charm. GO FIGURE... My guess is that the Camera and/or PC understood that I might have become PHYSICALLY VIOLENT, and decided to co-operate as a form of "self preservation". Well at least it works now. The reason for the Digital Camera is for my High School ReUnion next month, but also will work great in updating and expanding my "PHOTO GALLERY". Maybe I will post some new PIX from the "SECRET LAB" since it's been a couple of years. BUT this is the reason I didn't update yesterday.
Well it was a HOT ONE here yesterday, mind you this happens nearly every summer. We hit 116 degrees here yesterday, and this morning's Low was 93 Degrees. Wouldn't be so bad, but the Humidity is high also, but us Full-Timers in the Deserts of AZ can handle it.
It's cooler today, only supposed to get to 112. It's 108 now at 2PM.
I have NEWS, but it will have to wait until Tomorrow. Why? Because it is getting late for me and I need to EAT and SLEEP before work tonight. But I plan on Tomorrow's Update to be big with Commentary and NEWS!!! (And Maybe a New PIX of "THE SECRET LAB")

A Great feeling, My weekend has started!!! Well I am putting this NEWS to you before the LIBERAL SPINMASTERS get their "SPIN" out to the MAJOR MEDIA, ie LIBERAL PRESS. Here is my take on the "NON-ISSUE". WE KNEW Dick CHENY had past heart troubles before he was nominated as VP and before he was elected. Obviously he is looking after his health, and taking maintenence and preventative measures. Should CHENY RESIGN??? HELL NO!!! The Liberal spinmiesters will probably bring this up on the Sunday News Shows like MEET THE PRESS, etc. The QUESTION I RAISE is: Suppose President Bush needed a pacemaker? Would WE AS AMERICANS force him to resign? If he or Cheney were DEMOCrats, the Liberals would be saying "LAY OFF!!! The AMERICAN'S WITH DISABILITIES ACT PROTECTS THEIR JOB!!!". But since Bush and Cheney are REPUBLICAN the LIBERALS will seed the thought that this puts OUR COUNTRY in DANGER. What a bunch of BS!!! 6% of AMERICANS have a heart condition of some sort. Those that recieve Pacemakers do very well, and those that monitor their health and condition do well, and Dick Cheny is in this group. Why do I go on about this?
I'll tell you WHY. My best tech at the "SECRET LAB", had her 2nd open heart surgery just over a year ago. She is in HER MID 20'S!!!! Her position reqires her to be an important part of OUR COUNTRY's health care system. All of us at work are doing our best to cover her job duties when she is out. But she as an individual and her abilities, we will cover as long as necessary until she comes back. If I as a Supervisor can reroute things untill she is back, I am DAMN sure G.W.Bush can too. Cheney will be sidelined 2 to 4 days from work as Vice President. My Co-Worker has been sidelined for a couple of months a year ago, and for weeks presently. And I am her biggest defender. This really kills (so to speak) her, though she claims to be a LIBERAL, she takes my views more often than not.
What REALLY bothers me is someone so young having these health troubles. Now that you know the STORY should my co-worker RESIGN so that a component of the Nation's Health Care System doesn't have negative press? And she is left without HEALTH CARE and a JOB because of a pre-existing Heart Condition? I THINK NOT!!! My co-worker in her mid twenties has more serious trouble health-wise than Vice President Dick Cheney. I am sure that the surgical procedures performed on Cheney would be laughed off by my co-worker as NOTHING. Because I KNOW that if a simple PACEMAKER would solve her Condition, she would go for it in a HEARTBEAT, (So to speak). One last note on this before the STORY. Lydia, we all want you back ASAP!!! Well yesterday sucked, I had composed an Update and went to save it to post on the website. Well something happened, after I hit "SAVE" everything turned into garbage, and my Update wasn't "SAVED". Being late and needing to eat and sleep, I SWORE at my computer and replyed to some important Emails regarding my vacation in August. So I will post the most interesting things I had for yesterday, plus new ones for today.
Is this the beginning of the END of Elementary, Junior and High Schools and Colleges publishing HONOR ROLLS, MERIT ROLLS , and DEAN's LIST? Or how about simple "GOLD STARS, or BLUE RIBBONS" in, "In SCHOOL" Grading Systems? Well the "PRIVACY ISSUE" is brought up in this case. See the STORY HERE!!!

Well I bet I had some co-workers wondering why I was in a t-shirt and bluejeans at work today. They may have thought, "He got up late", or "Laundry is overdue." But both are incorrect. Today I wore the t-shirt that I have worn the past 10 yrs. You see today is the 11th Anniversary of the Highest Recorded Temperatue in Phoenix, AZ. 122 DEGREES!!! The t-shirt depicts an EXPLODING THERMOMETER, the Date, and a statement that, "I TOOK THE HEAT!" on it. Granted I remember, "more or less" the day before better. Because that day 06/25/1990 the Temp reached 120 DEGREES, and my Apt. Building lost AIR CONDITIONING. This also happened to be a time when I was working DAY SHIFT for a short time. Well that night those of us in that Apt Building had a KEG PARTY at the Pool all night.
This is more Evidence of "GLOBAL COOLING". Today's forcast high is a below normal 98 degrees. Plus we never reached the temps over 111 degrees this year. It used to be we would have a few days 0f 113+, but it hasn't happened this year. Maybe we hit it once last year, but all I know is that we no longer hit these high Temperatures like we used too.

The WEEKEND is here!!! 3 fun filled days for me!
Well today I finally got my 15 yr Anniversary Gift from "The Secret Lab". I got a Pen Knife/ Scissors/ Money Clip Combo, with the Emblem of "The Secret Lab" with a Saphire "chip", with a Rosewood "Inlay". This Award Program is SO LAME. After 15 yrs working there, you would think that marking milestones of 1, 5, 10, 15 yrs would generate an Award greater than $1 per year of service. This item I got can't be worth much more than $15.
I got Overtime Again this week, this just really sucks. Aterall I have 320 hrs. of vacation time to use, I don't want the Overtime, and I get TAXED to the gills for it. To me it ain't worth it, I'd rather just work my 40 hrs. a week or less and use a bit of my vacation time to make up the difference. But it doesn't work out that way for me.
In 7 weeks, I will be flying back to northern NY for the first time in 17 yrs, landing in Syracuse, and then driving 100 miles North. For a 10 day vacation in my hometown which includes a 2 day fest of my High School class of '81's 20th Reunion. This will be VERY INTERSTING for me. I will post photo's in "The Photo Gallery" afterwards. This is the 1st time I had to actually purchase Airline Tickets, all my other flights were paid for by work. But I got a good price, $233 total (including taxes and fees) for a round trip Phoenix to Syracuse and back. The rental car for 10 days will cost more than that. Given that about 80% of my Class still lives in the area, which has the highest Unemployment rate in NY, those of us who left the area will probably come back as "Daddy Warbucks", being successful and financially secure. From what I have been able to find out, most still make $25,000 or less per yr. In a State the has VERY HIGH TAXES.

Now for this story. I am involved with hiring and firing of people at "The SECRET LAB". If a candidate came in with visible piercings besides earlobes, it is my vote to automatically disqualify the job seeker. After all, if they can't show up at the interview without this "jewelry", then they will be a problem at work in a biohazardous area. Granted that earings are ignored at the job after employment, and othe body piercings covered by clothing is also ingnored, or is not known. The one thing thing that basically automatically disqualifies someone for the job, are the eyebrow rings, nose piercings, tongue piercings, etc during the interview. AFTER ALL, if you won't take off this "jewelry" for a JOB INTERVIEW in a job that REQUIRES you to work in a BIOHAZARD AREA, then you will not work for me. If you do get hired, and do this sort of thing outside of work, that is YOUR CHOICE. My position reguires me to follow Procedure, for both TECHNICAL and EMPLOYEE SAFETY. See the STORY HERE!!!

Well HI All!!! Well I had a busy night at work, I like it that way. Makes the time go by faster. An irritant, my dial-up connection has had trouble the past 2 hrs, delayed my research and new posting. But I will live through this and get this Update Up.
Well tomorrow is the LONGEST DAY of the YEAR, it is also the closest we have been to MARS in 13 yrs. And I believe a SOLAR ECLIPSE also happens tommorrow. Plus we will have the highest tidal activity since Febuary because the MOON is close to perigee. HMMMM.... I think we may all need to watch the NEWS the next few days for a big Earthquake somewhere.
By the way, MARS is the big RED DISC in the southeast sky after 9PM.

Now here is an idea. The FROZEN and snowbound northern residents get days off because of weather, too much snow, or too cold. So why shouldn't We in the DESERT adopt this policy also? If the Temperature reaches 115 degrees, everyone gets the Day Off, like a Blizzard or Extreme Cold. We get maybe 5 days a year over 115, probably none this year. It's a Monday, Oh well Start of my workweek tonight. At least I like my job, so it's not so bad. Let's see. What's Up.... Well my KRISPY CREAME DONUTS Stock is now up 108% in less than 4 months. If I cash out now, the profits more than pay for my round trip ticket, rental car, other expenses etc. to my 1st trip back to my hometown in Northern NY for my 20th High School ReUnion this August.
MAN!!! It takes almost 6 hrs of flight time to get here to there, over 2,000 miles. No more SMOKING SECTIONS on planes. I guess I need to get some nicoret gum or something. Flights are booked, I just need to arrange the rental car still. It is about 100 miles NORTH from Syracuse, NY to my hometown. Which is Lowville, NY in Lewis County, if you want to research it. This should be very entertaining to me, since it will be 17yrs since I've been there. I will take photo's, and talk about it when I get back. I will be spending Aug 10th thru Aug 20th there. I got my airline tickets thru PRICELINE.COM for less than $233 round trip Phoenix to Syracuse and back.

The weekend is Almost Here!!!
Well what's new? Well for one thing it got pretty chilly here in the Phoenix, AZ area this morning, the temp. got down to 68 in the warmest places around here, the nightly Lows should be in the 80's this time of year. Global Cooling is apparent here in the HOT DESERT.
Well there is some Sad News Today. A research chemist who helped bring the world Spaghetti-Os and Chunky Soup has died. I Loved Spaghetti-O's and Meatballs as a kid, and, to myself anyways, invented the Spaghetti-O sandwich. I still Love to have these time to time. In fact I just checked my cupboard, I have 3 cans of Spaghetti-o"s and Meatballs, (I never cared for the hotdog version, or plain) and 2 cans of each of the 3 versions of Beef in the CHUNKY SOUP catagory. The CHUNKY SOUP by Cambells is much better than Dinty Moore. See the STORY HERE!!!
This brings me to a side-note. Years ago, I like taking a cheap Hot Dog, that even tasted cheap, and cutting it up into thin slices. Then I would nuke the hell out of them in the microwave, until they dried out. Then smother them with FRENCH'S Mustard. I know to some people this sounds disgusting, just as bad as I feel about a peanut butter and mayo sandwich which someone who has emailed me in the past said he/she Loves, even as an adult.

A WIN FOR THE BOY SCOUTS in the US SENATE!!! As more and more schools are letting GAY Clubs use School Facilities, and more and more Schools are Banning the Boy Scouts from using the facilities, the US SENATE has struck a blow to those who wish the US SUPREME COURT ruled differently last year against the Boy Scouts. So these groups took a different avenue, trying to use State Law about Discriminatory Organizations from using Public Facilities. Well the Senate did the Right thing. They said, "Sure you can ban the Boy Scouts, but you won't recieve Federal $$$". This is ONE TIME big Gov't is working for my views. I say, Sure, let the Gay Clubs meet on school grounds after school. But DO NOT Ban the Boy Scouts from the same opportunity!!! See the STORY HERE!!!

It took me a little while, but I now have the article. It has been rumored for years that Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin WAS NOT the first man in SPACE. For YEARS, since the late 1950's it was rumored amoung HAM OPERATORS that they heard the last transmissions of a "Cosmonaut" translated as basically saying, "Goodbye". After a launch was detected from the old USSR. Other transmissions of other "flights" were also reported and rumored amoung HAMS. Well I found the Latest Story from PRAVDA, Russia's MAIN NEWSPAPER. Basically, from what I can gather, these 3 previous attempts were successful getting into SPACE. But were not disclosed, until now, because they all died in the attempts.SEE THE STORY HERE!!!
